“Sculpture occupies the same space as our body” – Anish Kapoor

The interdisciplinary dance project re:source explored the social and personal effects of the Corona crisis. The monumental sculpture HOWL by Anish Kapoor was the starting point and artistic inspiration for the project. In only thirteen afternoons the group of seven non-trained dancers worked under the artistic direction of Ellen Steinmüller. The Rotunda of the Pinakothek der Moderne hosted the premiere of the resulting piece Atlas on Wednesday 13.10.2021.

The project was made possible by the project initiative and coordination of IMPETUS Tanz and the kind support of the Pinkotheken art education departement, especially Simone Ebert and Pia Brühner.
